Dewater sludge by gravity. No centrifuges.
We manufacture and install geotextile tubes, containers and bank-protection elements. The sludge goes into the tube, the water leaves on its own. Energy demand: nil.
The problem
Dewatering and storing sludge is often the most expensive part of a water-treatment project. Mechanical dewatering (centrifuge, screw press) is energy- and maintenance-heavy, tied to one location, and uneconomic at small volumes. Hauling wet sludge is billed by the tonne — a lorry carries 80% water and 20% actual material. Put plainly: a waste of money.
Our approach
We make geotextile tubes, dewatering containers and pens to project specification. Sludge is pumped into the tube — the textile lets water through and retains the solids — and after 2–8 weeks of gravity dewatering the remaining 20–30% moisture content is economical to transport, deposit or reuse. Only the inlet pump consumes energy.
Product range
Geotextile tubes
Made to order — 1.5–3.5 m in diameter, 5–80 m long. For industrial, municipal and agricultural applications.
Dewatering containers and pens
Geotextile lining inside a steel or timber frame. Mobile, suited to smaller projects or sites where a long tube does not fit.
Geotextile bank-protection systems
Erosion-control elements and stabilisation of stream, canal and dyke banks. Fast to install, blends in naturally, long service life.
Bed-stabilising textile products
For stabilising the beds of rivers, canals and reservoirs. Cuts sludge build-up and improves the hydraulic profile.
Evaporation covers for basins
Covers for fire-water reservoirs and industrial raw-material basins, against evaporation losses and algae growth.
Who it is for
- Operators of waterworks and treatment plants (municipal and industrial)
- Construction firms carrying out river and canal dredging
- Mining companies — tailings dewatering and site reclamation
- Animal-farming operations — manure management
- Municipalities — watercourse and dyke maintenance
- Any project where the cost of dewatering or disposal is a sensitive line item
